One of the largest free spaces in Bratislava, due to plans of communist regime from long time ago to build the underground tube and city center for Petržalka district.
As many plans from those era remained unfinished, finally there came investor who was self-conscious and maybe mad enough to try to build this center in 21th century with cooperation with Petržalka town council.
Tube has turned into the high-speed tram (recently again turned into over ground train), lot of different problems and contradictions were solved and many of them also remained opened.
However, first stage of the proposed areas is just being built, so hopefully Petržalka will in the end get its deserved city center soon...
